Hi, I’m Olivia. I work with individuals and parents who are holding a lot behind the scenes, managing busy households, navigating diagnoses like ADHD, or trying to keep the peace in complicated family dynamics. When life hits a turning point, therapy becomes a space where you can sort through it without having to hold it all together.

Olivia Tomfohrde, Ph.D., LMFT

Hello, I’m Olivia. I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist, an EMDR-certified provider, and a Minnesota Board-approved supervisor. I also hold a PhD in Family Social Science, which means I’ve spent many years studying relationships, families, and factors that help people feel more connected and supported.

But more than anything, I’ve always been deeply curious about people. Even when I was younger, I found myself wondering about others’ stories, how families thrive and function, and what helps people feel safe, understood, and at home with each other.

That curiosity is what led me to start working with kids, moms, and families.

In our work together, I care deeply about creating a space where you feel comfortable being yourself, where we can make sense of what’s going on, and where we can gently work toward the kind of relationships and life you want. My goal is to help you build a sense of stability, connection, and ease so that you and your family can truly thrive.

You may be feeling…

Like your kids are driving you crazy

Parenting is hard, I get that. As a mom, I know how much there is to juggle. If you feel like you’ve given so much of yourself away that you no longer know who you are, I can help you find your way back to feeling whole.

Anxious and on edge

It turns out that when you look at the world there is a lot to be anxious about. You deserve to live a life where anxiety isn’t in charge of your well-being, and I’ll help you get there.

Worried about your kids

There is nothing worse than seeing your children struggle and feeling helpless. I work with children to reduce anxiety, increase emotional regulation, and manage issues at school and with peers. And you’re coming along for the ride! Parents are vital for making change.

Stuck in the past

For better or for worse our past comes with us into the present and sometimes it weighs us down. I help clients unravel their stories, understand how their past impacts their present, and find freedom to live the way they want to.
